Not a super flexy slender Yoga chick talks "the Power of Clarity”

Have you ever been in situations where you aren’t quite sure where you’re at? This can be professionally, romantically or socially. It really doesn’t matter. For any scenario, the lack of clarity is causing a lot of stress, tension and mind movies (yes, you know what I am talking about, don’t pretend you don’t know 😏)

Why do we stay in these situations though? It’s not comfortable, that’s for sure but is the truth really more uncomfortable? Once again, I blame fear. This little conniving creature that is actually an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real, and the best part is that we create those fears in our brain.

Let’s say your boss asks you to do something and you didn’t fully understand the assignment or request. Are you the kind of person that asks again? Or are you gonna try and figure it out? Or ask a colleague if they understood and ONLY when they confirm being as lost as you are will you ask for clarifications? Is there something wrong with asking? No, but we have been trained and programmed to anticipate. And in this case we anticipate the answer, the reaction and even the thoughts of the boss.

Another example I am sure everyone can relate to: the famous romance. You meet a person and things start shifting and happening. You observe gestures, pay attention to conversations but it’s not black on white. So you’re basically in the dark of what the situation is. I believe you youngsters call it situationship. I call it a waste of brain time and energy. Wouldn’t it be easier to ask if there is an intention behind everything or if it is just casual? You’re not asking to define anything, we don’t want to be called dramatic or pushy. But to demand clarity is your right and even chatgpt said so! Instead, you wait, observe, create scenarios. Again, FEAR.

Avoiding a difficult conversation out of fear activates the brain’s threat system, keeping the amygdala on high alert and the body flooded with stress hormones. While avoidance brings short-term relief, it reinforces anxiety and traps the mind in rumination, with unexpressed emotion settling into physical tension. Yoga works on this same loop by teaching the nervous system to stay present with discomfort through breath and awareness. By calming the fear response and reconnecting body and mind, yoga helps fear move instead of stagnate, making clarity and honest communication feel safer and more accessible.

No matter the situation though, it’s always better to “lose in the light of truth than to keep in the shade of doubt”. So yes, although “panta rei” sometimes you need to give it a little push.

Therefore, carpe diem and get the clarity you want!
