Not a super flexy slender Yoga chick talks "the Power of the Eight Limbs: Samadhi"

And here we are, guys... the last step, the final limb of Patanjali's 8 Limbs: Samadhi.

Many of you might have heard the word before and have a vague idea of what it means, but the truth is, you can only truly understand it if you’ve experienced it yourself. No amount of reading or listening can substitute the depth of knowing that comes from direct experience.

Samadhi is a full, complete state of absorption in the object of meditation. It brings with it a profound sense of bliss, peace, and equanimity. In this state, the boundaries of the self dissolve. It feels as if you are no longer a separate entity. You become the breath, the space, the energy. You are the universe. You are God. You are creation itself.

There is no more “I”. No more mind. No more thoughts. There is only presence. Stillness. Infinity. You become everything and nothing, all at once.

I know, I know... I sound kind of crazy, right?

Well, for the human mind, with all its limits, attachments, stories, and filters it is incredibly hard to grasp. Trying to explain Samadhi with words is like trying to describe the color blue to someone who’s never seen color. It just doesn’t land. You have to feel it. And the only way to truly understand is to experience it. Aaaaand... to experience it, you have to start at the beginning.

Unless of course, you go through some sort of intense overnight loss of identity and suddenly feel an overwhelming sense of oneness with the universe and... umm, sorry. I’m ranting again.

But really, there are no shortcuts. You have to practice. Consistently. With intention. With love. You have to walk through the previous limbs (Yamas, Niyamas, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana) and let each one guide you deeper.

You dedicate time. You cultivate awareness. You build inner connection. You slowly strip away all the layers that aren't really you, and eventually, you “arrive”. And I promise, it’s worth it. Even the glimpses are enough to keep you coming back. Even just touching that space for a breath, for a second, reminds you why you're on this path. This is the heart of Yoga. This is what it was always about.

Keep going. Keep showing up. Keep surrendering.

Samadhi is not a goal. It's a gift. And it waits for you, patiently, just on the other side of practice.
