Not a super flexy slender Yoga chick talks "the Power of Living"

I can practically hear your internal eye roll from here. Yes, yes, technically you’re alive because you’re reading this with functioning eyeballs and a beating heart. But that is the bare minimum requirement for existence. The real question is whether you’re actually living or just strolling through life like a very polite zombie who pays bills on time and occasionally waters a plant.

Here comes the universal truth we all know but try not to acknowledge. Nobody, absolutely nobody, is making it out of this life alive. Not being dramatic, simply stating a fact as old as existence itself. If fortune smiles on us, we get maybe eight or nine decades. And yet, so many people spend those years cruising on autopilot, tangled up in worries, anxieties, and a to-do list that regenerates faster than skin cells. We stress about yesterday, panic about today, and pre-worry about tomorrow. And then, in a moment of bold rebellion, we do something kind for ourselves only to immediately feel guilty… about yesterday, today, or tomorrow. Still reading? Good. Consider that your sign to read that paragraph again.

So what does it even mean to live? Is it draining your savings to buy a yacht the size of a small nation and sailing off dramatically? Could be, but not a requirement. Is it conquering career mountains, earning six promotions, building a mansion, and owning a fridge that talks? Maybe, as long as the price is not your peace. Or perhaps it means saving diligently until retirement and then finally exploring the world at seventy. Sure, that’s an option, but life occasionally has a dark sense of humor, so maybe schedule one trip before then, just in case. The truth is, there is no template. This is your show. Whether you like it or not, you’re the lead.

For me, living is choosing peace,  joy, alignment, choosing a life that feels like my life and not a borrowed version curated by family expectations, societal standards, or random influencers posing with coconuts. If living your life means working your butt off to buy a luxury car, amazing, but pursue it with enthusiasm instead of misery. If living means spending your savings on a boat and floating around the world like a sun-kissed sea nomad, wonderful, but let go of guilt while you do it. And if your plan is to save diligently and travel responsibly in ten years, then make sure to have joy until then.

Life hands out fresh beginnings like free samples at a grocery store. You do not need a birthday, a breakup, or a midlife crisis to wake up. Even in the thickest fog of difficulty, there is always something worth noticing. It might be your morning cup of coffee, the soft light in your room, or the joyous miracle that you did not stub your toe today. Appreciation expands your world. Neglecting it shrinks everything down to grayscale.

Life hands you opportunities EVERY day. But do you take them? Open your eyes. Before you shrug and scroll away, pause. Can you name a single thing you can do differently today? One tiny shift that nudges you from merely existing into genuinely living?

Because that, my friend, is where life actually begins.
